Well simply put an online business in my thinking is a web presence that you create, build traffic to, and monetize that traffic. I have made thousands online doing this and have actually created a constant flow of traffic to my websites and blogs. As I kept learning I was able to turn the traffic into income. In this article I will give you the basics of setting up and making money from a basic web presence.
The first step is creating a website or blog. This will be really difficult for someone that has no experience in the online business world, but is something that has to be done if you want to earn an online income. If you are new to the online business world then blogging will probably be your best option. There are two blogging platforms that I use and both are free. The first is wordpress.com and maybe a little more difficult to set up, but offers much more customization. The second is blogger.com which is pretty much the easiest way that anyone can set up a blog. Both of these blogging platforms will allow you to create a presence which you can market and therefore make money. When setting up pay attention to what you create your blog on. The topic is one of the most important factors of a blogs success and should be taken into heavy consideration. You should pick a popular topic and be extremely interested.
Once you have finished creating your blog it is time to move onto creating content and working on building free website traffic. To build free web traffic you must learn the different places that allow free internet marketing. If you choose you can pay for traffic, but personally I recommend doing the foot work yourself. Start with directories over at directorycritic.com. Here you will find thousands of websites that will give you free one way links. Once you have a link foundation try moving on into the article directories and social websites. If you are not sure where to go to get started with your internet marketing I highly suggest you sign up for a webmaster forum. My favorite forum is v7n.com/forums/ this is truly the friendliest webmaster forum on the net.
As you begin learning more and more about internet marketing and begin implementing some of the strategies you have learned you will notice traffic starting to hit your website. This traffic will be what makes you money and there are several ways to earn an income from the traffic. Remember you will need quite a bit of targeted traffic to make any real money online and if you work hard enough you will get hundreds of unique visitors each day to your blog. Many people choose to earn money with Google Adsense which you can find by searching Google. This program is ok for those who don’t want to try affiliate marketing. Personally one of the programs I have made the most with is an affiliate program on a get paid to read email website. I have also made money using clickbank.com and Amazon Affiliates. These are all great ways to start making money from the traffic you are getting to your blog.
A couple things to remember is when you are trying to set up an online business it will take a long time before you master all the concepts. You should grant yourself with a decent learning process usually around a year or so that you dabble around learning how you want to make money online.
