Writing an article is more than just putting down thoughts. In the perfect situation, you want to obtain your readers attention so that they do carry on reading. When trying to get your meaning out you have to have a firm awareness of what their interests are so that you will get them to read the piece of writing, but also to search you out for additional information.
An imperative part of creating a good article is to have a large dose of creativity. While creativity comes natural to a lot of people, there are others who immediately get a mental block, where all they feel like doing is ripping their hair out. After hours of staring blankly at a computer screen or piece of paper, they stagger away in total frustration, wondering how they even considered that they might write an appealing piece of writing.
Creating an image with words is an art, although it is, luckily, an art which everyone can cultivate. A clear picture does require a certain finesse that only creativity can provide. Working with similes and metaphors can help a great deal, but in the end how a piece of writing flows word to word, sentence to sentence, and paragraph by paragraph, is what determines a good and attention-grabbing piece of writing.
So, what do you have to do if your mind is blank? Unfortunately, there is no fail-safe way to get the perfect ideas, but there are a few simple methods to have your creative thinking juices flowing. Here are 4 easy techniques to help conquer the mental block and enhance your creative writing for your website.
1) Maintain a diary or journal at all times. Ideas can be found at any time and you want to write them down as they take place. Let your senses be your radar for locating great article ideas. Write any and all of your ideas in your journal and have it on you for future reference. You also want to jot down anything that you have read or heard, all ideas can be used to expand into your own ideas. This is not stealing, unless you duplicate it word for word. Ideas and imagination may come from anywhere, but it is the expansion of those thoughts that make them exclusively yours.
If you see that a lot of ideas are coming to you when you are in a car, carry a small tape recorder and save them. A lot of times you can find that your ideas flow and you are not in a position to write, but by adding a recorder you can still have these ideas available to you at a better time.
2) Stay relaxed and take the time to sort thoughts out. A scrambled mind can not create fresh thoughts. You must have a clear mind if you want to have creativity at full speed. Remove all barracades that can be a hindrance to your creativity, when something is bothering you, it is very difficult to force your mind to remain focused.
Try relaxation techniques just before sitting down to write and think about your experiences and interactions with people. Your personal and business experiences are what form your thoughts and opinions, use these in your writing. You want to uncover your voice with your emotions. What inspires you and what ticks you off. Use these emotions to help you express yourself and your ideas.
3) Have a working area that will encourage your creativeness. If your work space does not make you content and relaxed, it will be a impediment to good quality writing. Inspiration is a result of being in a pleasant state of mind and a cluttered workplace will cause disruption. Surround your working place with things that make you happy and help you calm down. It may be putting up pictures, aromatherapy, or items that encourage you. Use whatever you can to get yourself in a relaxed frame of mind and you will find your creative juices flowing.
4) Get away and do things out of your regular schedule. Allowing yourself to have fun increases adrenaline which will help your thoughts go off in totally new directions. With breaking your usual routine, you can have new experiences, which lead to different thought patterns. In no time, your ability for imaginative thoughts will utilize the new experience and get your imagination to go into overdrive.
Given that all people have different thoughts and feelings, we all have our own imaginative abilities, but might not consider that they are different. By using the four creative thinking methods from above, you may improve your creative thinking when writing for your home-based business. The hardest part is actually starting to write, however once you tap into your imaginative side it may become an enjoyable experience.
