by admin on January 29, 2010

By now, your blog should be up and live. You have chosen a blog theme and wrote some content about your blog. How do you tell people about and attract people to visit you blog? How do you make your blog popular? This 2 ways should help to promote your blog.

1. Look for links from relevant websites and blogs.- This is called the inbound Links

Google and other search engines interpret a link from some website to your blog as a vote, by that website, for your blog. The main task is to get the links to your blog from other websites and blogs. That means is to get inbound links. If someone click your link from other website,Google will notice and crawl your site to see what it is about. In this way, your blog will be in the Goggle search list.

Google Page Rank is the way Google places significance on each website . Google rank Website with a Page Rank from 0-10.This is a system by Google’s to specify how useful and important the website is. The more useful/important site will have a higher PR. A new blog will be assign a Page Rank..

You can boost up your site PR by getting inbound links from a reputable site (sites with a higher Google Page Rank than yours are considered reputable). With more good inbound links, your site will have more significance in Goggle and in turn will increase your Page Rank. Inbound links from blog sites of similar niche has far more credibility in the eyes of Google than that of unrelated sites.

2. Anchor Text – Tell Goggle What your site is all abut.

Anchor Text

Inbound links must be formatted in a right way to get full credibility with Google and other search engines about your site. Anchor text is the words with which another site links to yours. For example look at the following link:
Google – the best search engine.
SO the anchor text of the link is “Google the best search engine.

Anchor text tells search engines what the page is about. It gives blog readers an idea about the content of the site that is being linked to.

Don’t use traditional way of placing links is with anchor text “click here”  or “Http://www.yourdomain.com”!!. That will not help for your site in Goggle search. It doesn’t tell much neither to the visitor nor Google. Anchor text must be informative and must include keywords about the content of the site you link to.

Apply this 2 ways and try getting sites(higher PR) to link to your blog with informative anchor text. That is the important step to getting the visitors and traffic to your blog.
