When you sit down to write your first post after creating a simple blog at one of the many free blogging websites you may not be sure exactly how to write. In your first post you have not had time to really find your blogging voice and your first post will probably be a little jumbled without a clear objective. I actually went back to my online business blog and read some of the first posts I ever wrote a couple years ago and was shocked at how far I have come. If you want to become a blogger that can sit down and within a half hour convey your points exactly the way you wanted the only way to do so will be constant practice. Writing in general will only get better if you read and write constantly. To get better at writing you do not need to write on your specific topic or niche, but you will need to practice writing.
One of the greatest fears that new bloggers have is the fear or being rejected and criticized. The first time someone left a nasty comment on my blog it stopped me from blogging for a week. I couldn’t believe someone would say I couldn’t write and my blog was garbage. After thinking about it a while I realized that the person came to my blog and read my work. When I looked up the URL they left in the comment I saw that I had never been to their presence or read anything they had ever written. This meant that even though he disagreed or disliked my writing I was getting read and this person was not (at least not by me). Now this could be for several reasons the first being he was a nobody in my niche. I read the top twenty or so blogs in my niche which leaves me with very little time to read anything else. Another reason that he was reading my blog and I wasn’t reading theirs is when you start tasting success you really don’t have time to jump from blog to blog writing nasty comments. When I feel like a post is wasting my time I don’t have time to finish the post and tell the writer how big of a waste it was.
You will need to push past this fear if you want any chance of success. Understandably people don’t want to be put down, but in the virtual world critics don’t worry about hurting you since they can say whatever they want without any repercussions. Do not let those who are out on the web to hurt you stop your blogging success. If you feel like your work is not up to par then perhaps spending extra time writing and reading would get you back on track. Try writing at least one five hundred word article a day and see if your work improves. Now if you decide to do this be sure to keep your old posts so you can go back and read the older posts and compare them with your work now.
